APOLLON

APOLLON · The Frequency World

Sound you can feel.

Ten APOLLON frequencies, played on AudioCrypt Sensory Fusion. The frequencies come from APOLLON, hardware and software from AudioCrypt. One belongs with the other.

AudioCrypt Sensory Fusion

Sound is not only heard, it is also felt.

At its centre is a simple idea: sound is not only heard, it is also felt. APOLLON combines high-quality audio with physically perceptible resonance in an experience that works without instruction and without staff.

You lie down, choose a programme, and within a few minutes you are in a sound space that users describe as a bubble in which you lie sheltered.

Hear the harmony. Feel the resonance.

The APOLLON frequencies run on AudioCrypt Sensory Fusion. AudioCrypt builds hardware and software precisely for this frequency music, from the amplifier to the BM1.

The AudioCrypt Amp MK1 is the all-module amplifier with touchscreen and AudioCrypt Player. It plays the APOLLON frequencies offline from the local library and distributes them to room resonance, foundation and bench resonance, precisely time aligned.

One belongs with the other: APOLLON provides the frequencies, AudioCrypt the instrument they are played on, tuned from the amplifier to the BM1.

The attunement field

Satellite One · 150 Hz to 20 kHz

Subwoofer One · 35 to 140 Hz
Bench resonance
2 × BM1 · 20 to 150 Hz

The symbiosis of hardware and composition creates a complete attunement field around the person on the bench.

Two layers of vibration interlock: room resonance carries the sound at full pitch into the room, bench resonance makes the same frequency felt through the bench surface. AudioCrypt Sensory Fusion keeps both in the same time.

Satellite One, as a pair to the left and right of the head, plays the APOLLON frequency at full pitch, with 180 degree dispersion even throughout the room. Subwoofer One, on the floor under the feet, lays the warm, deep foundation, separate from the bench, so the bench surface stays free for the fine resonance. Two BM1 Bench Modules, at the base of the spine and between the shoulder blades, carry the same frequency, whole octaves lower, between 20 and 44 Hz, below the natural resonance of the bench surface. Higher tones stay out of the bench.

The field this belongs to is called vibroacoustics: it studies how sound is perceived not only through the ear but as vibration through a surface the body rests on. APOLLON uses it for one purpose, an experience of sound and resonance.

Ten sound spaces

Reference tone
The exact frequency, quiet and audible at times
Development
Melody and harmony within the chosen scale
Fundamental
Low and sustaining, it anchors the harmony

From a single tone grows a whole musical world: precisely tuned, carefully composed and with room to breathe.

Each of the ten compositions begins with a precisely defined frequency, embedded in the music as an audible reference tone. Fundamental, scale and instruments are tuned to this reference. Nine frequencies of the series go back to the values known today as Solfeggio frequencies, the tenth is a starting point of its own. This selection is a creative concept.

Every piece has its own tuning. The high reference tones appear quietly, bass and chords sit in lower octaves. Fade-outs and short pauses join the pieces into a sequence without blending their differently tuned sound worlds.

Scales and arrangements are compositional decisions. They claim no proven specific effect.

06

The history of the system

History shows how people teach relationships between tones, agree on pitch and perceive sound. The APOLLON series takes up these questions musically.

11th century, the singing tradition: Solfeggio belongs to ear and voice training. The teaching tradition linked to Guido of Arezzo used ut, re, mi, fa, sol and la to memorise relationships between tones; the syllables come from the hymn Ut queant laxis. This explains the syllables, not the modern frequency series.

19th century, Verdi and pitch: pitch varied from region to region. Giuseppe Verdi argued for a uniform, lower tuning, partly with singers’ voices in mind. A historical context, not a proven Verdi effect.

1993, the Mozart effect: a study with 36 students compared ten minutes of Mozart with relaxation instructions and silence before spatial reasoning tasks. The advantage was brief and limited to certain tasks. It does not imply a general increase in intelligence.

1999, the modern frequency movement: today’s Solfeggio frequency theory is linked to Joseph Puleo and Leonard Horowitz, whose book appeared in 1999. It documents a publication, not an effect, and is no reconstruction of medieval pitch.

Historical figures are not presented as endorsing the APOLLON productions.

“We made no such claim.” Frances H. Rauscher, 1999, on the claim that listening to Mozart raises intelligence.

Two collections

1 · Lie down
No changing, no preparation
2 · Choose a programme
On the touchscreen of the Amp MK1
3 · Arrive
Within a few minutes in the sound space
4 · Stay
One session long, or the whole night

Every APOLLON frequency comes in two versions. The same frequency, the same number, built for two situations.

APOLLON S Sleep, built for sleep: the short version, about 5 to 6 minutes, played once or the whole night, in the bedroom, a suite or a quiet room. Anyone who wakes at night finds the same sound space and drifts back into it.

APOLLON L practice programme, built for physiotherapy and spa: the long version, about 60 minutes, one frequency per session, in the practice, the spa or a wellness room. Long enough for a whole session, without repetition and without a break.

How a session works: lie down, without changing and without preparation; choose a programme on the touchscreen of the Amp MK1; arrive in the sound space within a few minutes; stay one session long, or the whole night.

Physiotherapy and practice: on the bench, as an additional layer of sound during suitable professional sessions, such as physiotherapy, massage or coaching.

Spa and luxury hotels: suites, relaxation zones and hideaways. A premium experience for guests that runs without extra staff, around the clock.

Beauty and cosmetics: processing times, masks and body wraps become a sound experience. Quiet rooms at work: the power nap of 15 to 30 minutes in break and quiet rooms, no changing, no preparation, back at the desk with a clear head.

Sport and performance: rest phases after training and moments of focus before competition, in high-end clubs and performance centres.

At home, in your own bed: APOLLON is built straight into the bed. The APOLLON Board, an 8 mm poplar plywood panel, lies under the mattress and carries the BM1 modules, two in a single bed, four in a double bed, wired in series.

09
